Combining the Blog and YouTube newsletters

A small service announcement. For a while now I have had a OneDrive file share location. This file share was used to share content I used in my articles. Since 2018 I also have a YouTube channel. Originally the blog and the YouTube channel had separate newsletters and separate membership file shares.

Change is coming!

Free content from my articles and video’s

You may already know, but when you subscribed to one of the newsletters you got a link to a members only specific OneDrive folder. In it I share content from the blog and YouTube. Since the start of the newsletters, I’ve provided members with roughly 60+ files, ranging from Power BI examples, Project Schedules, code and supporting images.

But the content was divided between the 2 newsletters.

And as my activity is currently more focussed on the YouTube channel, I feel that I’m missing out on helping my Blog subscribers. That isn’t the goal obviously.

A growing list of followers

A steadily increasing number of people have found my OneDrive and Newsletter. With roughly 300+ subscribers on each newsletter I’m very grateful for the support. Some people even subscribe to both newsletters.

The new list

I’m using Mailchimp which gives me two free audiences in the current plan I’m on. So, I decided to keep the biggest list intact and merge the YouTube list with it.

I’m reaching out to the current subscribers to the YouTube list and hope that most of them agree that it would be great to receive a consolidated newsletter once every other month. And of course, getting access to all the subscriber content sounded good to them as well.

The old YouTube newsletter and links will retire. That means that, if you are subscribed, you might want to update your bookmarks to the new list’s content.

Due to GDPR regulations I did not do a full merge. But instead, I requested people to subscribe to the blog newsletter 🎉.

What you can expect from the new newsletter

I will continue to provide content related to the Microsoft applications related to PPM (Project and Portfolio Management). Both on the YouTube channel and my blog, as well as my continued engagement with MPUG.com.

In the newsletter I’ll let you know what I’ve been up to the last 2 months (as this is a bi-monthly newsletter). I’ll let you know if there’s new content on the OneDrive folder. And as usual I’ll share some interesting articles I read from other MVP’s and content creators.

If there are any upcoming events in which I’ll be a speaker I’ll also let you know (mostly virtual events during pandamic lockdown obviously).

Here’s your call to action

“Always close with a call to action” don’t the Marketing/Sales guru’s say that all the time? Well, let’s have one here. I would love to have you on the subscribers list (if you didn’t already subscribe to the blog newsletter), you will be in good company. Here’s the link to sign up:
