Let’s return to this great new tool: Microsoft Loop. It’s a really fun, easy and fast way to collaborate. But I think there’s even more potential to maximize the PMO’s efficiency. But first, is it a bird? Is it a plane? No… it’s Microsoft Lodds?! (Gen AI has a way with words, doesn’t it?).
One more thing before we dive into the world of PMO and Microsoft Loop. I asked the AI to clarify what the speech bubble said and it didn’t tell me “gibberish, to Microsoft Lodds!” No, it told me “Wow! This will save us weeks!” very interesting:
Notes, but better
On first glance, Loop can look like just your ordinary note taking tool. And it’s true, it might be its most prominentfeature. But I’d like an alternative view on what Loop really brings to the table:
Connections
With Microsoft Loop, you can start from “whereever” (obviously this is an exageration, but take a look at the list from the link). The components are the superpower for Loop in my opinion. With these loop components I can start in Word, move to Teams, move to Excel and end in a Loop workspace, without ever losing content, and without ever losing connections with the previous locations.
If I have a Loop component inside Word, and within Teams, both get updated when team members alter the content.
Talk about a single source of truth!
Copilot Pages
Yes, sorry, we do need to talk about AI a bit. Hope you aren’t getting sick of it yet.
Recently, Microsoft announced Copilot Pages. Pages is quote: “[…] a dynamic, persistent canvas in Copilot chat designed for multiplayer AI collaboration.”. And even though there is 0 mention of Loop in the article, we can easily see the Loop component look and feel.
Team & AI collaboration becomes a breeze with Loop.
I published about Loop previously on the blog. But I also have a well received video about the topic:
Final notes
Building on a business case. Prompting for a design review document or user acceptance test script. Finetuning application documentation. Everything can be done with ease over e-mail, within Word/Excel, Teams or Copilot. The glue is Microsoft Loop.
Did you read my last article on implementing PPM solutions? I hope it will make you consider the way you work on your next project.
