A new challenge

Hi Readers,

Sorry for the radio silence the last few weeks. I’d like to post regularly but I’ve had a full agenda the last 2 months that didn’t permit me to write as frequently as I’d like. In this post I’d like to share one of the big changes that has happened. And also a heads up what’s coming and finally the winner of the book contest! But first:

The new challenge

After almost 8 years working with JSR I’m switching employers. I’ve made the switch to come and work for Projectum, who opened up a Dutch office recently in Amsterdam.

Projectum

Projectum is a leading Microsoft gold partner for Project and Portfolio Management (PPM). The company has been around for 12 years now and has been recognized as the worldwide Microsoft PPM Partner of the Year winner in 2015 and was a finalist in 2016.

The company uses it’s extensive knowledge of the PPM solution, it’s close bonds with Microsoft Project Group and long list of clients to create user friendly, best practice PPM solutions.

As Projectum is an internationally operating company my role will include cross border travel as well. My office will be in Amsterdam but I’ll frequently travel to the Nordic region as well. An exciting new step in my career.

Things to come

After settling in at Projectum, I’ll resume blogging again with more time to write. Currently there are a number of interesting draft posts that I’m working on, but haven’t been able to finish yet.

I’ve also been contacted by Prasanna Adavi, who we know from the Project Virtual Conference, his own blog and the Project Podcast. He has an interesting concept and asked me to join in. I’ll share more about this as soon as we’ve figured out the specifics.

And then there are a number of other things I’m excited to talk about, but that’s more for later.

Announcing the winner of the book review contest

A while back I did a book review for The Fast Forward MBA in Project Management. In it I described a contest where you could win a signed copy of the book delivered to you by the author Eric Verzuh himself.

five people responded to the call and I would like to thank Michael, Leonie, Simon, Ronald and Michel for participating and adding their interesting insights on Risk Management. Here’s how I picked a winner:

And here’s the winner of the signed copy of The Fast Forward MBA in Project Management:

Michael, congratulations! Eric and I will be in contact with you soon too get your information to send you the book.

Hope to see you all around on the blog. If you have any post suggestions please leave them in the comments below.

And if you are new to The Project Corner, have a look at my book reviews or the about posts to get a nice view of what the blog is all about.

  1. Hi Erik, congratulations and good luck on your next career step at Projectum! You will get some fine new colleagues over there, at least one I have worked with together the last couple of years, whose first name is slightly different from yours!
All the best, I’ll keep on following you and reading your blogs, looking forward to the next one.

    1. Thanks André! Having a lot of fun at the Dutch office in my first week. Keep an eye out for new posts indeed, I hope to post again soon.
